Were this reformation to take place, what would result? The principles of truth that God in His wisdom has given to the remnant church, would be discarded. Our religion would be changed. The fundamental principles that have sustained the work for the last fifty years would be accounted as error. A new organization would be established. Books of a new order would be written. A system of intellectual philosophy would be introduced. The founders of this system would go into the cities, and do a wonderful work. The Sabbath of course, would be lightly regarded, as also the God who created it. Nothing would be allowed to stand in the way of the new movement. Their foundation would be built on the sand, and storm and tempest would sweep away the structure. Who has authority to begin such a movement? We have our Bibles. Over 100 years ago, Satan made a plot to destroy the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Here it is: [Satan speaking] “We will … lead them [Seventh-day Adventists] to conclude that the requirements of Christ are less strict than they once believed, and that by conformity to the world they would exert a greater influence with worldlings. Thus they will separate from Christ; then they will have no strength to resist our power, and erelong they will be ready to ridicule their former zeal and devotion.”

[Note] This graph is not exhaustive in covering the issues below, but it will give you an honest look into what Ellen G. White and the Adventist Church historically taught concerning these issues. Besides, this the chart will also give you a view of the new theologies that are contradicting our historic doctrines. Many of the teachers of these new theologies do have a few quotes from the Bible or Spirit of Prophecy to seemingly support them and give some plausibility to their “hard speeches” (good arguments) that were predicted in Jude 1:15. But these “hard speeches” do not hold water since it is an almost undeniable fact that historically the Adventist Church or Ellen White never promoted these theories. If you have further questions about any of this material, please ask me and I will provide you with more documentation. My main endeavor in this paper, though, is to encourage you to diligently study these issues out for yourself and make your calling and election sure!

How much of Ellen G. White’s writings are really inspired?
“You have talked over matters as you viewed them, that the communications from Sister White are not all from the Lord, but a portion is her own mind, her own judgment, which is no better than anybody else's judgment and ideas. This is one of Satan's hooks to hang your doubts upon to deceive your soul and the souls of others who will dare to draw the line in this matter and say, this portion which pleases me is from God, but that portion which points out and condemns my course of conduct is from Sister White alone, and bears not the holy signet. You have in this way virtually rejected the whole of the messages, which God in His tender, pitying love has sent to you to save you from moral ruin. . .” 3SM 68
But those who teach new theologies in our church often talk a lot about Jesus and his love; is this not proof that they are of God? “
Some who claim to love Jesus are deceivers and all their religion is lip service. It does not transform the character. It does not reveal the inward working of grace. They do not show that they have ever learned in Christ's school the lessons of meekness and lowliness of heart. They do not show by life or character that they are wearing Christ's yoke or lifting Christ's burdens. They are not reaching the standard given them in God's Word, but a human standard. Their life is not pure like Christ's life. They are not being refined and ennobled by His Spirit. The way of truth they have not known, and they are of that number who will say, "Lord, Lord, open unto us. We have taught in the streets. We have done many wonderful works." But Christ will say of them, "I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity" (Matthew 7:23).” TDG 299If all these new theologies are wrong, why are many of our ministers teaching them?
“Many will stand in our pulpits with the torch of false prophecy in their hands, kindled from the hellish torch of Satan. If doubts and unbelief are cherished, the faithful ministers will be removed from the people who think they know so much. Let no soul complain of the servants of God who have come to them with a heaven-sent message. Do not any longer pick flaws in them, saying, "They are too positive; they talk too strongly." They may talk strongly; but is it not needed?.” SpTA11 8.1,2But these new theology teachings are bringing so many new members into the church!

If you lower the standard in order to secure popularity and an increase of numbers, and then make this increase a cause of rejoicing, you show great blindness. If numbers were evidence of success, Satan might claim the pre-eminence; for in this world his followers are largely in the majority. It is the degree of moral power pervading the college that is a test of its prosperity. It is the virtue, intelligence, and piety of the people composing our churches, not their numbers, that should be a source of joy and thankfulness.” 5T 31It takes many years for people to learn and grow; we can’t change too fast or it might cause us to loose some members!
“If those who have been in the church for weeks and months have not learned the straightness of the way, and what it is to be Christians, and cannot hear all the straight truths of the Word of God, it were better that they were cut off from Israel. It is too late in the day to feed with milk. If souls a month or two old in the truth, who are about to enter the time of trouble such as never was, cannot hear all the straight truth, or endure the strong meat of the straightness of the way, how will they stand in the day of battle? Truths that we have been years learning must be learned in a few months by those who now embrace the Third Angel's Message.” 1MR 33If I follow the example of the majority of the members and leaders of the church which are in good and regular standing, I will be a good, balanced, and saved SDA, won’t I ?
“It is a solemn statement that I make to the church, that not one in twenty whose names are registered upon the church books are prepared to close their earthly history, and would be as verily without God and without hope in the world as the common sinner. They are professedly serving God, but they are more earnestly serving mammon. This half-and-half work is a constant denying of Christ, rather than a confessing of Christ. So many have brought into the church their own unsubdued spirit, unrefined; their spiritual taste is perverted by their own immoral, debasing corruptions, symbolizing the world in spirit, in heart, in purpose, confirming themselves in lustful practices, and are full of deception through and through in their professed Christian life. Living as sinners, claiming to be Christians! Those who claim to be Christians and will confess Christ should come out from among them and touch not the unclean thing, and be separate. . . .” ChS 41
